STEP was established to provide a safe, calm, and healthy environment for children, adults, and families to engage in a collaborative process with horses as part of a healing process, both physically and emotionally.

What does that mean?
We believe that horses are excellent partners when we work on problem-solving, teamwork, relationships, conflict resolution and more.  In addition, the confidence we get by becoming proficient at horseback riding translates to our everyday lives.  STEP offers two programs including Therapeutic Riding (TR) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL).

About the program

founded in 2010, Serenity Therapeutic Equine Program (STEP) is a 501(c)3 Nonprofit whose mission is to empower individuals and families to achieve success through equine assisted therapies.  STEP is also a PATH (professional association of therapeutic horsemanship), INTernational certified Center,

Why do you do this?
Our horse partners provide a service to participants, whether it is in their physical movement that helps us to develop and strengthen our own bodies, or if it is in their interactions with people, helping us to gain insight into our own struggles and accomplishments.
We also believe strongly that these services can be a STEP in the right direction toward healing, and we hope that we can be of service to others in taking this first STEP!
